A historic, natural and rich city!
Granville, nicknamed the Monaco of the North, invites you to discover a historic, natural town full of riches.
For more than four centuries, Granville lived to the rhythm of the fishing campaigns to the Banks of Newfoundland and Saint-Miquelon. Turned towards the sea, it was also a corsair town whose sailors were among the most valiant of their time.
At the end of the 19th century, the sea baths attracted a large number of customers, as the town had been linked to Paris by rail since 1870. Numerous Belle Epoque style villas were then built along the coast and mark a new facet of Granville's personality: a seaside town of character.
Visit the historic district of Granville by taking the path of the ramparts: the Pointe du Roc and the lighthouse, the bunkers, the theatre of the Haute-Ville, the Grand'Porte and its double drawbridge, the watch house, the old barracks, the church of Notre-Dame du Cap-Lihou, the Place de l'Isthme.
